After defeats in Bihar Assemble election 2010, central UPA Govt. (Congress Party) is not interested in doing healthy work in Bihar state. One sanctioned project is going delayed and delayed…
The Bihar government today criticised the Centre for not giving clearance to the Detailed Project Report (DRP) aimed at development of seven minorities-centric districts of Bihar under the Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP). “The Centre has been delaying implementation of the projects in seven minorities-centric districts under the MSDP by sitting on the DPR submitted by the state government for clearance,” Minority Welfare Minister Shahid Ali Khan said in the legislative council during a debate. The UPA government has neither set out priorities for development works under the MSDP nor letting the state government do so and has been simply sitting over the DPR in this regard, he said. The Centre has identified seven districts in Bihar – Purnia, Kishanganj, Araria, Katihar, Sitamarhi, West Champaran and Darbhanga – under the MSDP. Khan also attacked the Union Minority Welfare Minister Salman Khursheed for his “indifference” towards the minorities as he was yet to convene a single meeting with the the state ministers handing minority welfare departments to take their feedback on the measures for alleviation and development of the minorities. The Minority Welfare minister said that he has written several letters to Khursheed for convening a meeting of the state minority welfare ministers to discuss the condition of the minorities and exchange views on remedial measures, but the central minister was yet to respond.
